Thank you for being a Minnesota voter and making sure your voice is heard this year!

If you live in Anoka County here is specific information for you about how you can vote for the November 3, 2020 General Election.  

Voting starts on Friday, September 18.

Vote by Mail

You can vote 100% by mail.  Simply request your ballot online, fill it out at home, and drop it in the mail.  It’s best to return it as soon as you can.

Return Mail Ballot In Person

You can sign up to have a ballot mailed to you at home and then return it in-person to a ballot drop off location in your area.

This is a new option for 2020.  Call ahead to make sure this is an option in your community.

Vote Early In-Person

You can go to an early vote location and cast your ballot in-person before Election Day. You do not need to request a ballot by mail for this option.

Absentee in-person voting sites

In-person absentee voting for ALL Anoka County voters is available at the Anoka County Government Center

In-person absentee voting at municipal locations is ONLY for residents of that city

  • 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday thru Friday (except as noted below)
  • 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on the Saturday before Election Day (October 31)
  • 8:00 am until 5:00 pm on the Monday before Election Day (November 2)

Dropping off your absentee ballot

Ballots can be returned to either the Anoka County Government Center or the city/township hall for the city/township where the voter resides. Ballots can be dropped off during normal business hours.

Voters cannot return ballots to a different city than where they reside.

Ballots should be returned inside the designated building. At the Anoka County Government Center, a table will be staffed next to a ballot drop box.  Ballots should not be placed in any exterior document drop boxes or payment boxes at these locations.

When dropping off a ballot for another voter, you will be required to provide identification and complete a ballot return form.

Changing your vote

If your voted absentee ballot has been accepted (this can be verified at mnvotes.org), you can ask the Elections Office to replace it until 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20 for the general election.
